Google has announced the launch of a bug bounty programme for Android Enterprise.

A security that is thorough and all-encompassing

Despite the fact that IDC found that over 80% of IT leaders are increasing their investment in business mobility, Pathak feels that simply investing more money in security and management solutions isn’t enough to give data control.

“For mobility to genuinely function in the long run, it’s necessary to blend robust platform security with easy, flexible management that scales to individual needs around user choice, privacy, and control,” Pathak adds.

According to Pathak, the security upgrades in Android 12 are aimed at business clients, such as strengthening password complexity constraints and turning off USB signalling on company-owned devices to reduce USB-based attacks.

He adds that, while Android 12 already meets the most strict deployment criteria, including those defined by the US Department of Defense’s Security Technical Implementation Guide, the company intends to use the incentives programme to better protect the platform.

Amazon Bug bounty programs

Google introduced Android Enterprise to allow the usage of Android devices and apps in the office by allowing mobile developers to integrate Android support into MDM systems.
Google has unveiled the first vulnerability rewards programme for its Android Enterprise initiative, with prizes ranging from $250,000 to $250,000, as part of its commitment to further protect the platform.

According to Rajeev Pathak, a senior product manager at Google, as remote working and hybrid work environments become more common, businesses must properly manage their growing number of mobile devices.

“Because we believe that examination and transparency are critical to strengthening security, As part of the Android Security Rewards Program, we’ve added a new Android Enterprise category. “We’re giving up to $250,000 for a comprehensive exploit on a Pixel device running Android Enterprise,” Pathak says.
